five-sense Friday

Working with Josh at the church today between Christmas service music practices, and...

seeing: sunlight reflecting off all the snow-frosted roofs, backed by tall pines and their own white glaze

hearing: the noisy clock ticking away time in the office on this shortest day of the year (7 hours, 42 minutes, and 49 seconds in this city); also, plenty of homemade music, such a delight to my ears in the echoing, empty sanctuary

feeling: the cycles of warm and cold as the furnace rests and then kicks on again; gratitude for a very large cup of tea gifted to me though certainly not originally intended for me ... kindness from a friend

smelling: Earl Grey; snow; cold

tasting: Earl Grey; snow; cold; baked goods from a really delightful plate of them gifted to us yesterday (oh, such tasty breakfast...)
