hearing: snowflakes tap-tapping at the windows.

seeing: fading light; and empty space where our tree stood until this morning.

smelling: the fabric softener from mom's dryer wafting from my jeans.

tasting: room-temperature fudge, which is the best.

feeling: warm and itchy from the dry radiator heat, but so thankful for the warm. baby, it's cold outside.
